How to Protect Yourself from Fake Loan Websites and Loan Scams

P

Pera Sayo Team

August 19, 2026

A lending company must be registered and have the proper authority from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to conduct lending business.

Pera Sayo Lending Inc. is listed by the SEC as a registered lending company under:

SEC Registration No.: CS201821932
Certificate of Authority No.: 2790

The SEC specifically warns borrowers about advance-fee scams and advises borrowers to verify lending companies and online lending platforms before transacting.

3. Check the website address carefully

Scammers can copy:

  • Company name

  • Logo

  • Photos

  • SEC information

  • Office address

  • Website content

For Pera Sayo, always check the address bar:

✅ Official: perasayo.ph

❌ Not ours: perasayo.com

4. Huwag magtiwala sa "Guaranteed Approval"

Legitimate lenders still need to evaluate your application.

Be careful with messages such as:

"100% approved!"
"Guaranteed loan!"
"No verification needed!"

Sa Pera Sayo, submitting an application does not guarantee approval. Your application and supporting documents must first go through our regular verification and credit evaluation process.

Before accepting a loan, you should be able to review important information such as:

  • Loan amount

  • Interest and applicable fees

  • Repayment schedule

  • Amount you need to pay

  • Due dates

  • Other important terms and conditions

The SEC advises online borrowers to read and understand the loan agreement, including interest, fees, charges, payments, and due dates.

6. Be careful when someone asks for sensitive information

Huwag basta magbigay ng:

  • OTP

  • Password

  • PIN

  • Online banking password

  • E-wallet PIN

Never share your OTP with anyone, even if the person claims to be from Pera Sayo.

Legit Lender vs. Possible Loan Scam

                Legitimate Lender

          Possible Scam / Red Flag

May verifiable company registration and authority

Hindi ma-verify ang company

May clear official website and contact information

Gumagamit ng suspicious or copied website

May application and verification process

"Guaranteed approval" kahit walang proper verification

Ipinapakita ang loan terms bago pumirma

Malabo o tinatago ang interest, fees, at payment terms

Nagbibigay ng loan agreement o loan contract

Walang malinaw na loan agreement

May proper customer support channels

Bago Mag-Apply, Remember: STOP – CHECK – VERIFY

The SEC itself recommends confirming the registration of lending companies and online lending platforms before transacting.
